Jim and Janelle with UNITS Truck.jpggroupsm.jpgToday is our anniversary!  September 1st of 2009 we rented our first 16 foot UNIT to a business owner that needed commercial storage.   He had purchased another business' equipment and was not ready to move the equipment into his current location.  He needed commercial storage fast and we were happy to deliver Lucky for us, our first 16 foot UNIT was delivered from the manufacturer minutes before we needed it!  Our customer rented for over 7 months and then we delivered his excess business inventory to a new location.  Another happy customer.

We were a new franchise with just two employees (really, owners).  Fast forward one year to today.  We have doubled our staff and have provided high quality containers and customer service to hundreds in the metro Milwaukee area.

Growing a business during a recession is challenging, but we found the people of metro Milwaukee value good quality product and service at a completive price.  Thanks Milwaukee for making our first year a success!

Whether you need commercial or residential storage or moving services in the metro Milwaukee area, call Janelle, Vicki or Jim at 414-476-unit (8648).  We are looking forward to many more successful years.

"My experience was nothing less than exceptional. Janelle's customer service was great. She answered all my questions and concerns. I had to reschedule my drop of a few times and she was extremely patient. Thanks Janelle! If your looking for a storage container UNITS is the way to go! -- Kerry 08-2010"

units_sm.jpgUsing a storage unit for household belongings during a remodeling project provides a convenient and affordable way to store.  The Kudzu review below is from one of our many customers that have used our storage unit during their remodeling project:

"Before starting a remodeling project, someone recommended using some sort of storage unit to hold all our furniture & other belongings. I searched the internet & called several companies, but I always came back to UNITS because of their friendliness & affordability. They answered all my questions on several occasions & were very prompt in sending a storage unit to my home. The driver was very nice & explained how to secure the unit while it sat in our drive way during the remodeling. The unit kept all our belongings dry & clean, especially during all the past summer storms. I couldn't believe how quickly they retrieved the unit after we were finished using it. I loved working with this company & will definetly use them again in the future. Thanks again--Nancy   08-2010"

I have personally remodeled my home three different times and can see how portable storage will make any remodeling or restoration project easier.  Check us out on the web at unitsstorage.com or we can be reached by phone at 414-486-UNIT (8648).

The pet food and supplies gathered at the Milwaukee Humane Society tweet-up should help feed and care for many pets waiting for adoption.   UNITS Mobile Storage helped with the Humane Society by donating a portable storage unit to store the pet food and supplies collected during their tweet-up on August 1, 2010.  Thanks to the twitter community for coming out and supporting the Milwaukee Humane Society.

If you have a project that needs a collection or staging area, consider portable storage.  The portable storage unit can be kept on location and locked for safety.  Call us at 414-476-8648 and let us help make your next project hassle free.

flood.JPGSoutheast Wisconsin is sure getting its share of turbulent weather.  A few weeks ago a tornado set down in Eagle Wisconsin and now parts of metro Milwaukee are flooding from heavy rain.  The photo is of my neighbor's car parked at the curb outside his house.  It is a total lost.  The creek that runs through our neighborhood flash flooded in about 20 minutes.  Luckily, my neighbor's house is up a hill and had no damage.

Others in the metro Milwaukee area have had house flooding.  My phone started to ring at 5:50am Friday morning with customers that had flooded basements.  They are trying to salvage what they can from the water damage and need a portable storage unit fast . . . and without a "same day delivery" charge.

Our portable storage units are the best in the portable storage industry.  I know our UNITS will offer our customers piece of mind that what they can salvage will be safe and dry.   We all hope we have no flooding (I'm watching my basement too), but if you are the unfortunate one that does, call us at 414-476-8648 and we will get you a UNIT as soon as humanly possible.

Jim and Janelle with UNITS Truck.jpgHave you ever wondered what it would be like to work with your spouse?  I did not think this would be possible.  We both like to be the manager, but somehow we are building a successful company right here in Milwaukee Wisconsin.  We divide the work and home responsibilities and have created a pretty darn good team.  Check out the article When Your Co-Worker Is Your Spouse from the Wall Street Journal where we are spotlighted.

When you need portable storage in the metro Milwaukee area, give this wife and husband team a call at 414-476-8648.  You can count on the highest quality portable storage container and the best customer service in Wisconsin.

Eagle.jpgToday Jim, my business partner, went to Eagle Wisconsin to deliver a UNIT to a victim of the recent tornado.  He said parts of the neighborhood were devastated, houses a complete lose.  Other parts of the neighborhood had houses that could be restored.  Our storage unit landed in the driveway of a house where restoration was possible.  We hope the convenience of portable storage will at least easy some of the difficulty of restoring their house.

I was recently interviewed by Sara Wilson for an article published on allbusiness.com.  Her article tells of how moms can also be successful franchise owners.   Owning the UNITS Mobile Storage franchise located in metro Milwaukee has afforded me control over my own future and my schedule.  Our company specializes in helping people with their moving and storage needs.  We deliver a storage container to your home, you pack it and we can then move it or store it.   Check out the article and when you need a storage container give this mom a call at 414-476-8648.

We started with a beautiful night on the outside patio at Leff's Lucky Town in the village of Wauwatosa.   Glues where tweeted out by @UNITSMilwaukee to help patrons guess What's in my UNIT?    Four prize packages where secure inside the locked storage UNIT.

Here are the clues for the first prize: Leff's is pet friendly (yes, I bring my dog Reagan to Leff's!) This prize is centrally located.  Can you guess What's in my UNIT?  The lucky winner guessed a gift basket from Central Bark in Wauwatosa.

The next prize package had clues that where a little harder to decipher: The Navy's General; Don't puck around; Roscoe is here.  Can you guess What's in my UNIT?  The answer is The Admirals prize package including a zamboni ride at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

How are you doing?  Our third prize had lots of guessers, but only one lucky winner: We are brewin' up a good time for you; Win this prize four fun; Tix toc tix toc time is running out.  Can you guess What's in my UNIT?  Brewers' tickets of course!  At this point in the night, we wished we had a retractable roof like Miller Park because it started to rain and we all had to move inside.  But, not to worry, the final prize was dry inside our storage UNIT.

Final prize and last chance to win: Beer belly be gone!!; You can go for a spin or a swim here; 6 Milwaukee area locations.  Can you guess What's in my UNIT?  A one year membership to the WAC with locations in West Allis, Wauwatosa, Waukesha, Greenfield, Milwaukee and North Shore Wisconsin.

Congratulations to our winners!  Follow us @UNITSMilwaukee on twitter or call us at 414-476-8648 for the next What's in my UNIT? Contest.

IMG_2659.jpgIt was quite the Tweetup at Swag last month. Over 120 members of Milwaukee's local Tweeting community came for food, fun and networking.  UNITS Mobile Storage of Milwaukee ran their first "What's in my UNIT?" contest.  Party goers were able to enter the contest where clues were tweeted out by @UNITSMilwaukee (also known as Jim, co-owner of UNITS Mobile Storage).  The party goers then guessed what prize was stored in the storage UNIT.   The suspense grew throughout the night.   At the end of the evening 6 tweeters guessed the correct answer ... an iPod touch.  Nicholas was the lucky winner and is now a big fan of @UNITSMilwaukee.

Our next "What's in my UNIT?" contest will be held at Leff's Lucky Town in Wauwatosa on May 26th.  Just follow @UNITSMilwaukee on Tweeter for the clues.  Meet us at Leff's between 5:30pm and 8:00pm Wednesday night to enter the "What's in my UNIT?" contest.  Bring the family and have a great time!
