Congratulations you are moving to a new place!  We can move your household using our sturdy and economical storage units in just 7 days for $199.00.  The 7 Day Move includes rental of one 12' or 16' foot mobile storage container and transportation within UNITS' standard delivery area. 

This is how it works.  UNITS Milwaukee delivers one 16' or 12' foot portable moving and storage unit to your home, you pack it, we move the UNIT to your next location, you unpack it and afterwards we come and pick-up the container.  The entire move must be completed in 7 days or less with the UNIT ready for final pick-up by noon on the 7th day.

The 7 Day Move for $199.00 expires May 31, 2011 and is subject to UNITS' standard delivery area and availability.  Additional transportation cost for out of standard delivery area.   This offer may not be combined with other offers and is for residential customers only.

Many of our customers are overwhelmed with planning for a move.  I have broken down the big moving "to do" list into 11 "to do" lists starting 8 weeks before moving.  I hope these help!

 

 

Moving Checklist - 7 Weeks Before Moving

·         Start pulling together medical and dental record.  Find new medical professionals and ask your existing medical professionals for a referral.

·         Arrange to have school records transferred to your child's new school or daycare.

·         Call your insurance agent to see what changes to expect in your policies.  Ask if moving is covered and arrange for insurance for your storage unit and new home. 

·         Contact clubs (health, social, golf) that you have joined.  Ask how to end, sell or transfer your membership.

·         Arrange for veterinarian records to be transferred.

real-estate[1].jpgYour house is on the market and your agent wants you to de-clutter (you know remove personal items, excess furniture, items not being used stored in closets) so your home appeals to a wider array of buyers.  That means you need to move your excess furniture and belongings off-site to make your home seem more spacious and inviting.  Remember, if you store your excess belongings on-site in your garage, basement or driveway, a potential buyer might think since you do not have enough room/storage in the house the buyer may not either.

So, what do you do now?  Most people procrastinate and do nothing.   It is a lot of work to rent a moving truck, load your belongings, and then unload them into storage only to do the same thing in reverse order once you find your new house.  To solve your problem, call for a portable storage container to be delivered to your house.  With the storage container at your house, you simply load your excess belongings at your convenience.  When you are finished and your agent thinks your house is ready to sell, you call for a pick-up and the storage container is delivered to a secure, heated warehouse until you are ready for delivery to your new home.  Your agent calls this process de-cluttering (we call it pre-packing), but you just completed some of your packing and you are a step ahead!
